Hiya! My name is Phil and welcome to my online portfolio and blog! I’m social strategist, tech junkie, and writer from the states. After spending ten years in Europe I now reside in San Francisco.
My latest book, “How to Marry a Finnish Girl“, is currently out from Equinix, the world’s digital infrastructure company and a member of the Fortune 500. I focus on global social strategy, social selling, and content creation.
I generate sales leads from social media for my stakeholders.
Previously I led the social media team at Nokia in Silicon Valley, and spent many years in various marketing and communications roles at Nokia’s global headquarters in Finland. I served as Editor-in-Chief of Nokia’s official blog, Nokia Conversations, which boasted a readership over one million uniques per month. And previously was the digital marketing lead for Nokia’s gaming and app store initiatives.
The Verge called me “one of Nokia’s more public faces“.

When I’m not geeking out to social media trends or working on my new book, I moonlight as a stand-up comic around San Francisco while having performed in New York, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Estonia. I am an avid board gamer, and co-founder of the San Francisco Board Game Designers. You can find me hiking around San Francisco taking photos with my DSLR and my Keeshond pup named Bochy!
